About Me

I am a professional guitar/vocalist from Grantham, Lincolnshire now based in Torbay with over 30 years experience after serving my ?apprenticeship? on the Northern pub/club circuit.I cater for most tastes with a repertoire of around 150 songs from 50's Rock & Roll, right through to the present, ideal for weddings, party?s & pubs.My live act features guitar playing with songs like ?Sultans of swing?, ?Hotel California? and Comfortably numb? among many other ?Guitar? tracks. I spend many hours ?behind the scenes? in my home studio with the arduous task of making backing tracks from scratch as accurately as I can. Each track takes on average three days to complete. I have recently set up a workshop to offer a Guitar set-up & repair service and in April '06 completed a full time course at the 'Totnes school of guitarmaking', Devon where I designed and built my first acoustic guitar.

I spend a lot of time in my studio making backing tracks for www.musicbackingtracks.co.uk This involves building the track by recording each instrument seperately. It can be fairly tedious work! I have recorded and produced CD's for some local artistes in my studio, for more information & pricing on this, fill in the contact form and I'll get back to you. I try to do everything myself - from the backing tracks, Cd's, right down to designing the posters, CD covers, cards etc. It does feel sometimes like a 'day job' !

When I do find a spare few minutes, I can usually be found in my workshop tinkering! I offer a Guitar repair / set-up service alongside building my own. I have always loved taking guitars apart and mending them. I longed to be a 'Luthier' and really got the bug after working voluntarily with Chris Eccleshall in the early 90's. In 2006 I finally got the chance when I enrolled on the 'Totnes school of guitarmaking' course. A few years ago I was pleased to be involved in the charity single in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance (although I never got credited for my solo due to a printing error!) A T.V. Documentary was produced for the 'Community channel' which also credited the wrong guitarist for MY solo !! The song itself was written and produced by Tim Morris; a great drummer / sound engineer whom I have had the pleasure of working with on numerous occassions.
